Folger Shakespeare Library

The Folger Digital Texts website provides Free, high-quality digital texts of the majority of Shakespeare’s best-known plays. The plays are easy to browse, read, search, navigate and index.

These digital texts of Shakespeare's plays have been built up from the ground, using superb source texts, meticulously edited on the basis of current scholarship.

The plays were taken from the Folger Shakespeare Library editions, published by Simon & Schuster. Sophisticated coding was added to the texts to make the plays easy to read, search, and index.

No matter what levels you teach; if you teach English you’ll almost certainly turn to Shakespeare at some time and the Folger Shakespeare Library and its digital texts are well worth a visit.
