We welcome the submission of original articles about English teachers or teaching English. If you would like to write an article which you feel will benefit existing or new teachers in the form of advice, information or suggestions of any kind, please send it to us. If we agree that the article is both original and informative, or simply amusing, we will publish your article in 'The teacher speaks'.

Please note that we use an anti-plagiarism program as part of our daily work and will check that all articles are original, so please do not submit material which is already online or substantially the same as an existing article. The article should ideally be between 500-750 words. You may submit up to 3 images to use in the article.

At the moment we are open to articles on almost any aspect relating to teaching, but would particularly welcome submissions on the following topics:



IT for teachers

  • Using new technology in class
  • Teaching Online
  • Starting your own school

Working as a teacher

  • Finding a job
  • Job interviews
  • Teaching ESL in specific countries

Teaching tips

  • Improving lesson quality / effectiveness
  • Teaching styles / tactics
  • Managing classroom issues / problems

  • Things that make it worthwhile
