New York Times Learning Network

The NYT Learning Network provides a wide range of real-world English language teaching and learning materials and study ideas based on content taken from the New York Times newspaper. The site is a lesson and English language resource for teachers, as well as being a goldmine of material for higher-level students.

Teachers can use or adapt lessons featured on the site and also contribute their own ideas. Lesson plans based on material taken from the NYT are published daily. Students can respond to Opinion questions, take News Quizzes, learn the Word of the Day, enter contests and much more.

The material available grows daily, as new educational resources are published each weekday, based on the articles, photographs, videos, illustrations, podcasts and graphics published in The New York Times. Best of all, it's all free.
